Letter from the President

Happy fall, y'all!

Firstly, we STILL have ONE more Eating For Education night coming up. Please remember to show up for all of our wonderful participating businesses! Make it your weeknight treat to go out, get some good food, and help our wonderful local teachers make a meaningful impact on our students! This month's night is WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2026!!!!

Secondly, IT IS VOTING MONTH!! Please, please, PLEASE join us on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 as we vote on important Chamber items. Including, but not limited to, our 2026 Annual Awards that will be given out at our 2026 Annual Christmas Party and Silent Auction in December! YOU. DO. NOT. WANT. TO. MISS. OUT!

Thirdly, we want to hear from all of you how we are doing as a Chamber of Commerce, so we have created a survey for you to complete. This will let us get a better feel on the heart of our community, and let us make the proper changes to better serve you in the future. It can be found HERE! It will also be available to you when you come to vote at our in person meeting on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 starting at 11:30 A.M. EST. 

Lastly, it is nearing the most wonderful time of the year. Applications for the Midway Christmas Parade have officially opened! As always, since the Chamber was asked to head up the Parade, registration will be required. Everyone is welcome to join us, we just need to know who to expect! 

The end of the year festivities are ramping up, and I cannot wait to dive into all of them with you!

Piedmont Triad Regional Council

The Piedmont Triad Regional Council is excited to share an upcoming free in-person workshop in collaboration with Heather Edwards as part of the Growing Food Finance Technical Assistance Hub.

Scaling Beyond Startup is open to local food retail (including markets and farm stores) and food hubs located in the Piedmont Triad Region.  

Workshop content will focus on practical strategies for growing and sustaining your business. You can find additional details on the registration page.

This workshop is facilitated by Heather Edwards who served as Executive Director of the McDowell Local Food Advisory Council from 2018- 2023. She directed development and construction of the Foothills Food Hub and has led community initiatives focused on local food systems, food access, agricultural economic development, health equity, and farmer success.

Howdy!

Your Lexington Area Habitat is on the hunt for our 2026 Gala Sponsors. And this years event, is one you definitely do not want to miss! Not only is our theme a dazzling denim hoe-down (channel your inner Dolly), but we have also added new entertainment to your evening line up.

An old fashioned, live auction with an auctioneer who will have you stomping your boots to claim a prize from fellow bidders! And musical entertainment from an up-incoming local favorite, Quartz Crisis. Who's musical talent will have you singing along, and cutting a rug, from the first song!

Our Habitat Family will also have extra cause to celebrate that evening because we are building a home RIGHT NOW for a Future Habitat Homeowner family. And of course, in order for us to continue to do great work for our families, we need YOUR HELP to make their dreams a reality.
